Growing up in the United States makes me feel ignorant when I realize other cultures do not involve the same things. Not necessarily major aspects, but some of them are. Like how golden gaytime bars from Australia are a completely absurd concept from an American standpoint. Gap years are frowned upon in the US but they're supported, from what I have read and heard, by Europeans and Canadians at the very least; I’m pretty sure others too, like Australia
This site is so interesting in the sense that a single post can have people from every continent, though I will admit I have yet to realize at least that someone is on this site in Antartica. An Aussie, American, Englishman, Chinese, Nigerian, Ukrainian, Pacific Islander, and so many more could all be under the same post and it baffles me. It truly is an incredible feat humans have accomplished. I enjoy reading about native’s lives, even when they're from the same country as myself. They still live a different life.

I myself have still found interesting aspects of my own culture, overshadowed by the normalcy of growing up with their consistency.
